Description:

Boater’s World Manufacturing Group is seeking a dependable and organized Stockroom & Receiving Associate to support our boat manufacturing operation in Chocowinity, North Carolina.

The Stockroom & Receiving Associate is responsible for receiving incoming parts and materials, verifying shipments, putting inventory away in the correct stockroom locations, and helping maintain an accurate and organized parts inventory.

This position also supports the manufacturing floor by picking, staging, and distributing parts and materials to production departments as needed.

This is a hands-on position that requires regular use of material-handling equipment. Previous forklift experience and the ability to obtain or maintain company-required forklift certification are required.

What You’ll Do

Receiving & Putaway
  • Receive incoming parts, materials, supplies, and other shipments.
  • Unload deliveries safely using forklifts and other approved material-handling equipment.
  • Verify received materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and other receiving documentation.
  • Check part numbers, quantities, and other shipment information for accuracy.
  • Inspect incoming materials for visible damage, shortages, incorrect quantities, or other discrepancies.
  • Accurately record received materials in the appropriate inventory or ERP system.
  • Label, organize, and put away parts and materials in assigned stockroom locations.
  • Ensure materials are stored safely and in the proper bins, racks, shelves, or designated storage areas.
  • Communicate damaged, missing, incorrect, or questionable shipments to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate receiving paperwork and supporting documentation.
Stockroom & Inventory
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and accurate stockroom.
  • Ensure parts and materials are stored in their assigned locations.
  • Pick and stage parts and materials based on production needs.
  • Distribute parts and materials to production departments as required.
  • Assist production employees with locating required parts and materials.
  • Perform cycle counts and other inventory counts as assigned.
  • Research and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Assist with inventory adjustments and stockroom organization.
  • Help maintain accurate part numbers, quantities, and storage locations.
  • Help prevent damaged, misplaced, or lost inventory.
Production Material Support
  • Stage parts and materials for production based on established requirements and priorities.
  • Deliver materials to designated production areas.
  • Respond to material requests from production teams.
  • Help ensure production employees have the correct parts and materials when needed.
  • Report shortages or inventory concerns that could affect production.
  • Return unused or excess materials to the appropriate stockroom locations.
  • Help maintain an efficient flow of parts and materials throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Inventory, Shipping, and other departments as needed.
Forklift & Material Handling
  • Safely operate forklifts and other approved material-handling equipment.
  • Move pallets, containers, parts, and production materials throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload materials as required.
  • Safely place and retrieve materials from designated storage locations.
  • Perform required pre-use inspections of forklifts and assigned equipment.
  • Follow established forklift traffic and pedestrian-safety procedures.
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment immediately.
  • Handle parts and materials carefully to prevent product or inventory damage.
Safety & Housekeeping
  • Maintain clean and organized receiving, stockroom, and material-storage areas.
  • Keep aisles, exits, racks, and work areas clear of unnecessary materials and hazards.
  • Properly stack and secure materials to prevent damage or injury.
  • Follow established procedures for material handling and storage.
  • Immediately report spills, damaged materials, unsafe conditions, or other hazards.
  • Wear required PPE and follow all company environmental, health, and safety procedures.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in receiving, stockroom, warehouse, inventory, material handling, manufacturing, or a related environment preferred.
  • Previous forklift experience required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain company-required forklift certification.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, move, and store parts and materials.
  • Ability to accurately count and verify parts, quantities, and inventory.
  • Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, labels, part numbers, and receiving documentation.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow inventory and material-handling procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work a consistent manufacturing schedule.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Chocowinity, North Carolina.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing stockroom or receiving experience.
  • Current forklift certification.
  • Experience with parts receiving and putaway.
  • Experience using ERP, warehouse, inventory, or material-management systems.
  • Experience with cycle counting and inventory control.
  • Experience picking and staging parts for manufacturing or production.
  • Experience working with bills of material, work orders, or production material requests.
  • Boat, marine, automotive, RV, powersports, or other manufacturing experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on position working in an active manufacturing, stockroom, and receiving environment.

  • Regular exposure to forklifts, moving equipment, manufacturing noise, dust, materials, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to repeatedly bend, kneel, reach, climb, push, and pull.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and other assigned material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, position, and move parts, boxes, materials, and supplies as required by the position.
  • Ability to work around shelving, racks, pallets, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Must wear required PPE and follow all facility safety procedures.
