Location: Casa Grande, Arizona
Reports To: Director, Health & Safety
Ivanhoe Electric is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Systems Specialist to support the development and execution of our Health & Safety Management System at our growing mine site in Casa Grande, Arizona.
This role partners closely with operations, construction teams, and contractors to develop practical safety procedures, training materials, and digital systems that support safe, compliant, and efficient work practices. The ideal candidate combines strong technical writing and organizational skills with a passion for continuous improvement and workplace safety.
This position plays a key role in advancing our Zero Harm and Zero Serious Injury & Fatality (Zero SIF) culture by ensuring work processes are clearly defined, understood, and safely executed.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Documentation & Systems- Develop and maintain SOPs, procedures, checklists, and field safety tools
- Ensure documentation aligns with company standards and MSHA/OSHA requirements
- Support implementation and optimization of HSE systems, document control, and training platforms
- Improve usability and efficiency of safety processes through technology and digital tools
- Conduct field observations and verify compliance with safety procedures
- Identify gaps, hazards, and opportunities for improvement
- Support corrective actions, risk assessments, and incident follow-up
- Collaborate with employees, supervisors, and contractors to reinforce safe work practices
- Assist with onboarding, orientations, and safety training programs
- Maintain training records, competency tracking, and compliance documentation
- Participate in audits, inspections, reporting, and KPI tracking
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred
- 1–3+ years of experience in technical writing, safety systems, or industrial environments
- Experience creating procedures, work instructions, or training materials
- Familiarity with LMS platforms, SharePoint, or document control systems preferred
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to translate operational risks into clear, practical procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, or industrial safety regulations is an asset
