Position Summary
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Pharmacy Officer will serve as the clinical and operational leader of Gifthealth’s entire pharmacy vertical. This is a rare opportunity to build and scale a pharmacy organization at the intersection of technology, specialty therapeutics, and manufacturer partnership, with the full backing of executive leadership and a clear mandate to grow. The CPO will have direct CEO access, a world-class team, and the chance to redefine what pharmacy partnership looks like for manufacturers and patients alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, operations, and performance of Gifthealth’s pharmacy vertical, including Pharmacy Quality, Pharmacy Operations, and the Gastroenterology program
- Serve as the executive clinical liaison to pharmaceutical manufacturer partners, ensuring pharmacy capabilities support every new logo from day one
- Lead accreditation, regulatory compliance, and quality programs across all pharmacy operations
- Partner with the Agentic AI and technology teams to integrate pharmacy clinical intelligence into the Gifthealth platform (Digi+Hub)
- Drive patient adherence outcomes and start-and-stay-on-treatment metrics across specialty and GI therapeutic areas
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing pharmacy team; foster a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with Operations and Enterprise PMO on intake-to-delivery workflows, ensuring seamless service delivery for every logo
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) required; active pharmacist licensure in good standing required
- MBA or advanced clinical degree (Preferred)
Experience & Knowledge
- 10+ years of progressive pharmacy leadership, including executive-level experience in specialty pharmacy, hub services, or direct-to-patient (DTP) distribution (Required)
- Deep knowledge of specialty and GI therapeutic areas and the pharmaceutical manufacturer landscape (Required)
- Proven track record leading accreditation (URAC, ACHC) and quality management programs (Required)
- Experience operating at the manufacturer interface, including managing hub programs, patient support services, and co-pay/patient assistance program oversight (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale pharmacy teams in a high-growth, technology-driven environment (Required)
Work Environment
- Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid)
- Schedule: Full-time; reports directly to the CEO
Key Essential Functions
This role requires the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across executive, clinical, and operational teams; build and maintain complex external relationships with pharma manufacturer partners; and lead a matrixed pharmacy organization with accountability for quality, compliance, and performance outcomes. The CPO must be able to travel as needed for client engagement and maintain active pharmacist licensure throughout employment.
