SUMMARY
Transports patients of any age to and from the Radiology department utilizing safe transportation methods. Assists Technologist in various areas of Radiology.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transports patients of any age to and from the Radiology department following appropriate protocol.
- Maintains patient records
- Monitors RIS daily log for workflow
- Prepares radiology requests for procedure by gathering correct information from RIS.
- Completes procedures in RIS
- Calls stat reports to referring physicians upon request.
- Assist Technologist with patients in various areas of Radiology including portables.
- Collects supplies from Pharmacy and stocks in appropriate areas.
- Performs clerical duties at imaging reception as required.
- Transports contrast media and non-narcotic medication upon request.
- Responsibilities:

- Contributes to the time management of the department by being punctual to work and on assignments according to the hospital standards.
- Demonstrates the importance of wearing employee identification badges.
- Ensures own health status as demonstrated by timely compliance with all hospital health and safety policies.
- Demonstrates competency in the use of RIS/PACS, and any other information system as required.
- · Understands and adheres to departmental policies and procedures related to specific job function; acts as resource to other staff and new personnel.
- Participates in professional development by maintaining clinical competency and completes mandatory AnMed and departmental in-services. Maintains continuing education credits as required by governing board if applicable.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement program.
- Practices proper body mechanics.
- Maintains cleanliness in work area.
- Maintains patient confidentially and is aware of patient rights.
- Keeps immediate supervisor informed of any unusual concerns.
- Participates in special projects as requested by supervisor, manager, director, and/or radiologist.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
III. EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED equivalency required
- Experience in a healthcare setting helpful but not essential
