Description:

Goodwill Industries of the Columbia is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Employment Consultant to empower low-income parents in their journey toward economic self-sufficiency. The Employment Consultant will be responsible for delivering comprehensive, person-centered case management services that support clients in achieving meaningful employment outcomes

What will you do in this job?

  • Ensure all case management documentation is accurate, timely, and audit-ready, including client case notes, intake documents, billing documentation, employer engagement logs, funder communications, and required program tools.
  • Provide comprehensive, ongoing case management services for individuals enrolled in the program, including completion of intake interviews, development and continuous updating of person-centered plans, and accurate database entry and maintenance of all required documentation.
  • Utilize case management strategies to support employment outcomes, including assisting clients with job search and employment acquisition activities such as creating, updating, and submitting resumes and providing interview coaching.
  • Maintain consistent case management follow-up, documenting all client and employer contacts to assess outcomes, address barriers, and adjust service strategies as needed; may attend interviews to provide direct support when appropriate.
  • Initiate, schedule, and document routine case management meetings with clients to evaluate progress, identify barriers, and implement timely interventions in accordance with required timelines and program expectations.
  • Partner with service funders as part of the case management process, including discussing referrals, assessing service alignment, providing input on acceptance/denial, and contributing to plan development.
  • Maintain professional, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders involved in the client’s case management plan, including funders, employers, vendors, transportation providers, residential providers, and family members.
  • Integrate employer engagement into case management practice by cultivating relationships through prospecting, labor market research, and community engagement to expand employment opportunities aligned with client goals.
  • Safely operate motor vehicles for company business in accordance with all applicable laws, company policies, and insurance eligibility requirements.
  • Follow all security policies and procedures to protect against injury, theft and misuse of company-owned property and information.
  • Perform all duties in a timely, organized and efficient manner.
  • Adhere to the highest level of confidentiality keeping private all Human Resource, Client, and Payroll information. Safeguard documents by keeping them locked when unattended.
  • Keep supervisor fully informed of any unusual or relevant organization information affecting services, staff and/or outcomes for the individuals served by the Agency.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting Rate: $23.00, with eligibility for annual performance-based increases. Maximum pay is $25.88, achievable through sustained good performance and years of service.

  • Retirement Savings Plan: Eligible to participate in a 401(k) or Roth IRA upon turning 18, with enrollment eligibility after one year of service and 1,000 hours worked in the first year (or 500-1,000 hours each year for two consecutive years). Enrollment entry dates are January 1st or July 1st.

Currently possess the compassion and patience to support the vulnerable in cultivating job skills and sustainable employment.

Are a self-starter with personal drive and initiative.

Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license for at lease three (3) years, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance.

Have excellent verbal and written skills in languages representative of the community being served; bilingual English/ Spanish preferred.

Have intermediate level or better computer skills which include Excel, Outlook, Word, and internet use.

Enjoy working both independently and in teams, and having a variety of tasks in your day.

Have an associate degree or commensurate work experience.

Are a compassionate and attentive listener.

Are passionate about providing high quality customer service.

Interact positively with ethnically, culturally, economically, and disability diverse populations.
