A typical day for a Certified Medical Assistant may include:
- Preparing patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and ensuring they feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit
- Assisting physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures, anticipating clinical needs to support efficient, high-quality care
- Performing clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, conducting point-of-care testing, and completing other duties within the scope of practice
- Accurately documenting patient information, test results, and provider instructions within the electronic medical record to support continuity of care
- Coordinating patient flow by preparing exam rooms, maintaining supplies, and helping ensure appointments run efficiently
- Providing clear, compassionate education to patients regarding medications, treatment plans, follow-up appointments, and preventive care
- Scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and collaborating with the care team to support seamless patient experiences
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment where professionalism, communication, and patient-centered care are shared priorities
- Pursuing ongoing professional development through training, continuing education, and organizational resources that support long-term career growth

To be considered for this Per Diem Certified Medical Assistant opportunity, you are passionate about delivering compassionate patient care while creating a positive experience for every individual you serve.
- This position offers rotating shifts 7:30am - 4pm, 8am - 4:30pm, 8:30am - 5pm, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining a work-life balance. Travel required to Belleville, Elizabeth, Jersey City, and Livingston.
- You hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (AAMA, AECA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA, or NHA) and a current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- A minimum of 6 months CMA experience is required and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, Epic, knowledge is preferred.
