Job Description

Position Summary- 3 OPEN POSITIONS The Business Services Coach is responsible for providing individualized coaching and technical assistance to participants in the MWBE Accelerator Program. This role serves as the primary point of contact for a cohort of small- to mid-sized Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs), helping business owners assess their current operations, establish measurable growth goals, connect with professional service providers, and navigate available resources throughout the duration of the program. The Coach will conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions, monitor participant progress, coordinate referrals to subject matter experts, and develop individualized action plans that support long-term business sustainability and growth beyond program completion. Essential Responsibilities Business Coaching & Case Management (60%) • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate each participating business's current operations, strengths, challenges, and growth opportunities. • Develop individualized business action plans with measurable goals and milestones. • Meet weekly with assigned businesses to provide coaching, accountability, and technical assistance. • Monitor participant engagement, identify barriers to success, and recommend appropriate interventions. • Maintain detailed case notes and participant records within the program database or CRM. • Develop individualized transition and sustainability plans for each participant at program completion. Resource Navigation & Professional Services Coordination (20%) • Connect businesses with professional service providers, including legal, accounting, marketing, financial, procurement, certification, technology, and human resources experts. • Coordinate referrals and schedule appointments with technical assistance providers. • Serve as liaison between participants and contracted consultants. • Track utilization of professional services and participant outcomes. Program Administration & Participant Engagement (15%) • Schedule participant meetings and coaching sessions. • Send reminders for one-on-one appointments, workshops, and group learning sessions. • Assist participants with navigating the program's online learning platform and required tools. • Monitor attendance and participation. • Follow up with participants regarding assignments, deliverables, and action items. Data Collection & Reporting (5%) • Track participant progress using established performance metrics. • Prepare participant status reports and program outcome summaries. • Collect success stories and program impact data. • Assist with grant reporting and contract deliverables as needed. Qualifications Required • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Economic Development, Public Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. • Three or more years of experience in business advising, entrepreneurship support, workforce development, small business development, economic development, or program management. • Experience coaching or consulting with small businesses or entrepreneurs. • Strong project management and organizational skills. • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills. • Ability to build trusted relationships with diverse business owners. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM systems, and virtual meeting platforms. Preferred • Experience working with Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs). • Knowledge of NYC and New York State MWBE certification and procurement opportunities. • Familiarity with small business financing, marketing, operations, strategic planning, and business growth. • Bilingual proficiency is a plus. • Experience with case management or participant tracking systems. Working Conditions This position operates in a hybrid environment with occasional evening workshops or networking events.
