Job Description
The Commercial Lines Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Commercial Lines department by assisting Account Managers, Client Managers, Producers, and leadership with the day-to-day activities required to service commercial insurance accounts. This role is responsible for completing high volume administrative and policy support functions, coordinating documentation, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with renewal preparation so licensed team members can focus on client relationships, coverage consultation, and business development.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, thrives on organization and multitasking, and takes pride in producing accurate work while supporting multiple team members with competing priorities. Over time, there may be opportunities to obtain a Property & Casualty license and assume expanded responsibilities within the Commercial Lines department
Operational Support
· Coordinate information between Commercial Lines staff, carrier partners and internal departments.
· Assist with obtaining signatures, supplemental applications and supporting documentation.
· Support carrier marketing activities by preparing required documentation.
· Help maintain departmental workflows and processing timelines.
· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline administrative processes.
· Assist with special projects and operational initiatives.
Team Support
· Provide timely assistance to Commercial Lines leadership and team members.
· Adapt quickly to changing priorities and interruptions throughout the day.
· Serve as a dependable resource during high volume renewal periods.
· Cross train on departmental workflows to provide backup support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Three or more years of administrative, operations or insurance support experience.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
· Ability to learn new technology and agency management systems.
· Typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
Preferred
· Commercial insurance agency experience.
· Experience using Applied Epic or another agency management system.
· Experience working with policy documentation or insurance operations.
· Property & Casualty license or willingness to obtain licensure after hire.

· Ability to appropriately handle stress in a fast-paced environment and interact appropriately with others.
· Sit & stand for extended periods of time up to 7 hours per day.
· Must be able to walk up and down stairs (there are no elevators in the 2-story main office building).
· Physical, consistent attendance during normal working hours within a standard 40-hour workweek, during the shift required by this position, as many of the job duties are time-sensitive and most effectively and efficiently resolved only through required immediate communication; additional hours may be required.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
