Position Summary

This job description is provided during orientation to outline the responsibilities and expectations of the Housekeeper role. This position ensures a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation throughout resident apartments and common areas while supporting safety, infection control, and resident independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Apartment & Community Cleaning

• Perform scheduled full and partial cleanings of resident apartments in accordance with company procedures.
• Clean bathrooms, kitchens, floors, surfaces, and remove trash as assigned.
• Complete cleanings only when residents are present to promote consent and independence.
• Maintain and document housekeeping schedules and completed tasks.
• Clean vacant apartments following resident move-outs and assist with annual deep cleanings.

Safety & Quality Standards

• Follow health, safety, and infection control procedures at all times.
• Conduct visual safety checks and report or correct hazards promptly.
• Report maintenance concerns to maintenance staff in a timely manner.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies according to facility procedures.

Supplies & Organization

• Monitor housekeeping supply inventory and request replenishment as needed.
• Maintain equipment and cleaning areas in clean, organized condition.

Professional Responsibilities

• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Arrive to work on time and prepared for scheduled shifts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Training

• CBRF certified in First Aid/Choking, Fire Safety, and Standard Precautions preferred.
• Experience working with the geriatric population preferred.
