The Human Resources Generalist is a professional staff member responsible for a variety of HR services and programs. This job description is not an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations, HR programs, policy interpretation, and training.
- Conduct employee relations investigations, facilitate grievance processes, and advise leaders on HR policies and procedures.
- Coordinate pre-employment screenings, onboarding, orientation, and employee training.
- Support recruitment and talent acquisition while serving as an HR resource to employees and management.
- Maintain accurate HRIS, Smartsheet, and confidential employee records, ensuring compliance and reporting.
- Assist with benefits, policy updates, HR process improvements, and cross-functional HR initiatives.
- Develop and deliver training, generate HR reports, and represent Human Resources at employee events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Five (5) years or recent and progressively responsible human resources experience in the areas of employee relations, or organizational development required.
- Must have recent presentation and facilitation experience required. Must successfully pass the facilitation demonstration assessment.
- Must possess and maintain SHRM Certified Professional Certification or successfully obtain within one (1) year of employment.
- Must possess and maintain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification or successfully obtain within the first ninety (90) days of employment.
- Must possess the PowerTalk Certification or obtain within one (1) year of employment. Other certifications may be accepted in lieu of this on a case-by-case basis.
- Must possess and maintain NNAHRA Tribal Adjudication Professional certificate or obtain such certification within one (1) year of employment.
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.
- Strong classroom facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships across diverse groups.
- Adaptable, solution-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Ability to serve as a positive role model and cultural ambassador.
