Physical Therapy Assistant - Wellness Center in Lima, Ohio at Lima Memorial Health System

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Physical Therapist Assistant is a highly trained and skilled technical worker who administers physical modalities and procedures and related duties as assigned by the Licensed Physical Therapist. The plan of care is carried out by Physical Therapist Assistant under the direction of the Physical Therapist per State of OhioLawsand Rules Regulating the Practice of Physical TherapyChapter4755. of the OhioRevised Code; Chapters 4755-21 to 4755-29 of the OhioAdministrative Code. The Physical Therapist Assistant will demonstrate professional conductthat is consistent with the Standards of Ethical Conduct for the Physical Therapist Assistantof the American Physical Therapy Association. The Physical Therapist Assistantwill be required to assist in other areas as assigned that may include Acute Care, Rehabilitation Unit, Transitional Care Unit, , Pediatrics, LMHS Outpatient, and the Wellness Center. This job is measured with age specific criteria.

Education:Physical Therapist Assistant must be a graduate of an accredited school of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Licensure/Certification: must be licensed or eligible for licensure with the Physical Therapy Board of Ohio in accordance with The State of OhioLawsand Rules Regulating the Practice of Physical Therapy Chapter 4755. of the Ohio Revised Code; Chapters 4755-21 to 4755-29 of the Ohio Administrative Code. Physical Therapy Association membership is encouraged for this position

Experience: No previous experience required however, 1-2 years clinical experience recommended

Skills: Communication, initiative, listening, overall general knowledge of PT/OT/ST as a profession, leadership and timeliness are all important skills required to perform this job.

Work is medium and will be inside and outside. Standing, walking, kneeling, bending, running, sitting, lift 50 pounds, and supporting patients are common activities while on the job. Other common activities include talking, listening, reaching and handling various equipment, as well as typing and computer skills. Necessary traits include good communications skills, public speaking skills, ability to multi-task, near visual acuity, and hand-eye coordination. There is a possible exposure to animals.
