The Diamond Center at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace (VCUS) is managed by Epoch Catering, under a food service management agreement with the VCUS. Epoch Catering is part of the Epoch Hospitality Group.
The Vibe Credit Union Showplace (VCUS) offers the perfect combination of exposition space, convention meeting space and attached hotel for any event type or size. The VCUS is Oakland County’s premier facility for tradeshows, conferences and exhibitions, as well as business and corporate meetings, seminars, weddings and other social events. The VCUS’s Diamond Conference Center and Event Center combined offer 4 ballrooms and 38 meeting/banquet rooms. The attached Hyatt Place Hotel offers 126 suite style rooms.
For Social Events and Weddings, the VCUS offers the:

•Diamond Ballroom – 20,000 sq.ft.
•Platinum Ballroom – 5,000 sq.ft.
•Cornerstone Event Rooms – 23,000 sq.ft.
•Outdoor Courtyard for receptions and ceremonies

•Full service catering capabilities with 2 kitchens each over 10,000 sq.ft.

Job Requirements:
The assigned market segment for this position is the Social Market, specifically, but not limited to: Weddings (receptions and ceremonies), Bar / Bat Mitzvah Celebrations, and all Indian catered events.
Ideal candidate must have several years previous experience as Sales or Catering Manager. May consider experience as convention service manager, banquet manager or catering administrative assistant. Upbeat personality, strong organizational skills, patience and detailed oriented. Good computer skills, telephone etiquette, oral and written communication skills are required. Must also have extraordinary sense of urgency to complete all catering sales requirements.
Four year degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or Marketing preferable. Successful hospitality or sales careers can enhance this, as can professional certifications. Previous convention-related experience, sales experience in hotel or service industry preferred. Searching for a creative and aggressive individual to solicit and target new business. Experience with Social Tables, Excel, INNtelligent CRM, and Ungerboeck are a bonus.
Job Type: Full-time
Minimal hours: M-F, 8-5. Success requires 50-60 hours/week. Some evenings & weekends required. Salary/Commission position, based upon experience. Comp package includes base salary with commission; benefits package available.
