Floridian is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Controller / Accountant to join our team in Fleming Island, FL. This position will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on accounting professional who is comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of accounting responsibilities. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid accounting experience who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day details rather than working exclusively in a high-level corporate accounting environment.
Job Requirements- Manage daily accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
- Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and proper coding.
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal financial reports.
- Review and reconcile company accounts on a regular basis.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial reporting as needed.
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and documentation.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collection efforts when necessary.
- Process invoices, payments, and other accounting-related documentation.
- Work with management to answer accounting and financial questions.
- Assist with audits, tax preparation, and other outside accounting requirements as needed.
- Identify discrepancies or accounting issues and work to resolve them promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of company financial information.
- Assist with improving accounting procedures and internal processes.
- Handle other accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger functions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with accounting software is required; familiarity with common accounting platforms is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach.
- Ability to work full-time from the Fleming Island office.
