You’ll support quarterly and annual tax provisions while developing deeper expertise in ASC 740 and broader corporate tax operations.
Your work will help ensure accurate tax reporting, reliable financial records, and effective management of state and local tax obligations.
You’ll collaborate closely with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Legal, and other teams to resolve tax-related questions and issues.
The position provides strong exposure to technical tax work while operating within a structured environment where your calculations and work papers receive senior-level review.

- Lead the preparation and calculation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Prepare deferred tax asset and liability calculations, tax-basis balance sheets, and valuation allowance analyses.
- Assist with tax footnote disclosures and tax-rate reconciliations.
- Reconcile monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple state and local jurisdictions.
- Review customer exemption certificates, resolve billing tax disputes, and support state and local sales tax audits by gathering relevant documentation and transaction details.
- Prepare tax-related general ledger journal entries during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations for tax-related accounts, including accrued taxes, deferred taxes, sales tax payable, and payroll tax payable.
- Investigate and resolve tax-account discrepancies and variances in a timely manner.
- Serve as a key tax contact for Accounting, AP, AR, and Legal teams, providing clear guidance on tax-related operational matters.
- Communicate tax requirements and concepts clearly to stakeholders without a tax background.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or a hybrid environment.
- Working knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting principles and general sales tax concepts.
- Strong analytical curiosity and a habit of investigating discrepancies, tracing data to its source, and identifying underlying causes.
- Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats.
- Comfortable working in a structured environment where calculations, documentation, and work papers are carefully reviewed for technical accuracy.
- Experience with tools such as Zuora, Sage, Anrok, or Salesforce is a plus.
- Exposure to AI-powered tools and an interest in applying AI to improve tax operations and efficiency is advantageous.
- CPA certification or progress toward a CPA designation is a bonus.
