Associate Attorney in Austin, Texas at Clausen Miller P.C.

Clausen Miller P.C. is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its growing Texas practice. The position is open to attorneys located in Austin, San Antonio, or the surrounding communities and will focus on first-party property, professional liability, and general casualty defense.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney who wants early, hands-on litigation experience—including depositions, hearings, and direct client interaction—while working closely with experienced partners in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
The position offers a flexible hybrid or remote work arrangement.

What You’ll Do

With direct partner mentorship, you will take an active role in managing cases from initial investigation through resolution or trial, including:

• Communicating directly with clients and developing strong professional relationships
• Managing written discovery and preparing strategic case analyses
• Drafting and arguing motions and engaging in motion practice
• Conducting and defending depositions
• Appearing in court and participating in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Assisting with trial preparation and post-trial motions, including appeals

What We’re Looking For

• Active license and good standing with the State Bar of Texas
• 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred; first-year attorneys with prior civil litigation exposure or other relevant experience will also be considered
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational ability
• Self-starter who thrives in an independent and flexible work environment
