This role will operate under Advanced Die Casting, LLC as a whole-owned subsidiary of Humanscale.
The Die Casting Tool Room Technician prepares, maintains, and repairs production molds according to daily schedules and production plans. Key duties include cleaning molds, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting active mold issues, and supporting set-up technicians during mold changes. Additional responsibilities involve tracking quality and safety data, participating in continuous improvement events, and maintaining 5S workplace organization standards.
- Review and validate daily production plans to ensure readiness and alignment with operational requirements.
- Prepare mold components in advance to support timely assembly and production needs.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance activities on molds.
- Inspect, verify, and analyze reported mold issues during production and after each run.
- Identify and recommend mold improvements based on production-reported issues.
- Support resolution of quality issues within the molding area.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the molding area.
- Assist set-up technicians with mold assembly, changeovers, and production start-up.
- Document quality issues related to mold malfunctions and support corrective actions.
- Actively participate in improvement events and process enhancement initiatives.
- Follow and reinforce safety, discipline, and area-specific policies.
- Participate in management programs related to incentives, improvement events, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Implement 5S practices and support waste reduction initiatives.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and communicate effectively with coworkers.
- Industrial Engineering or related degree and/or related experience.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish required.
- Must have at least 5 years minimum experience in the die casting process.
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing, repair, adjustment, and improvement of fixtures, injection molds, tooling, and dies.
- Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molds, extrusion tools, blow molding equipment, die cast tools, dies, fixtures, and workstations.
- Ability to safely operate manual machine tools.
- TIG welding experience to support tooling and repair activities.
- Basic experience with SolidWorks design, CAD, CAM, EDM, and wire EDM preferred.
- Analytical capability.
- Ability to manage resources efficiently.
- Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools, including APQP, process flow diagrams, FMEA/AMEF, control plans, SPC, and PPAP preferred.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance.
- Knowledge of TIG Welding, crane and lathe handling and milling machine operation.
- Interpretation of drawings.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Assistance and punctuality - must be reliable and punctual.
- Ability to prioritize and stay organized.

- Lifting capacity of up to 30 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the production area.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and working in awkward or non-ergonomic positions.
- Repetitive movements involving hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.
- Handling molds, dies, tooling, fixtures, and machine components.
- Manual effort during mold maintenance and repair activities.
- Exposure to industrial noise.
- Exposure to dust, oil mist, chemicals, welding fumes, and non-ionizing radiation.
- Use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform welding, mold repair, and repetitive tooling maintenance activities.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to manage daily correspondence, draft documents, and track basic data.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD/CAM, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.

Salary Range: $21.08-$30.75
