Job Description
The Donor Relations and Data Entry Intern will be a member of the development services team within operations and is responsible for assisting the Donor Relations and Donor Services Coordinator to ensure that donors feel highly engaged with our mission.
Daily Assignments Include:
- Run reports in CRM to identify wish kids for donor stewardship
- Compile information from multiple sources to write and edit succinct, emotionally powerful wish child stories and profiles
- Create, assemble, and distribute framed recognition pieces for donors
- Ensure data integrity in CRM through project-based work
- Assist Development team members with administrative support
- Navigate through our event platform, OneCause
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned
Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week (hybrid work experience), including one weekly in-office day on Thursdays. The cycle runs from September 3rd, 2026, through December 3rd, 2026. Official start date is on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, with mandatory in-person intern orientation at 9:30am.
Requirements:Skills and Abilities
- Creative writing and editing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM a plus but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Desire to contribute to the mission of Make-A-Wish
Preferred Qualifications: Coursework in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or business administration
Additional Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in a college or university academic program
- Must be able to commute to our downtown Chicago office located at 200 W Monroe St, Suite 1801 Chicago, IL 60606 and be onsite weekly on Thursdays
- Minimum age for all internships is 18
- Selected candidates will be asked to participate in a criminal background check
- Short writing sample required
