Size of Project: $460M
SOW: Provide construction inspection services in support of a construction management team, FBOP Owner representatives and other stakeholders. APSI is currently seeking a Construction Inspector to be part of an Owner's agent (CMa) team in support of the FBOP in Leavenworth, Kansas on the FCI Leavenworth project. This is a Full-Time position starting in August for 1 – 1.5 years. The Inspector will be an essential part of the CMa team and will provide sound and proactive management advice to BOP to ensure the project is run safely and all BOP standards are met. The Inspector shall have full understanding of the project contract documents, BOP and end user goals and requirements as validated by the CO. The Inspector shall effectively monitor, assess, coordinate, and inspect the construction work of the contractor on behalf of BOP.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Maintain excellent relationships with BOP client representatives, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Provide daily site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes
- Coordinate in the field with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, designers, and regulatory agencies
- Prepare daily reports
- Review and report on contractor schedule progress
- Coordinate 3rd-party special material testing inspections
- Review and provide input on design documents and potential change order issues
- Maintain project records
- Manage project photographic records
- Verification of field surveys
- Report on project issues and provide status updates
- Perform other duties as may be required.
Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, etc.):
- Shall have a High school diploma and a minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience inspecting various types of construction scope of work, including concrete. The inspector should have specialized training and experience providing similar services on projects of comparable complexity
- Shall have knowledge of OSHA safety regulations with 30HR OSHA Safety card (prior to start)
- Shall be proficient with Microsoft Office software and the ability to create and edit Microsoft word and excel files. Shall be proficient with Adobe Acrobat and be able to create and edit .pdf documents.
- Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required
- Ability to bring assignments to completion independently
- Ability to work well with others, and a willingness to learn in a team environment
- Proven record of accomplishments as an inspector on a variety of construction projects.
- Shall be a US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Construction Management software such as Kahua or Procore
- Experience as an inspector on government projects
