Job Description
Regional Vascular & Vein Institute (RVVI), part of the Aultman Health System, is seeking an experienced Lead Vascular Sonographer to provide clinical leadership within our accredited outpatient vascular laboratory.
This position combines advanced vascular ultrasound expertise with day-to-day operational leadership. The Lead Sonographer serves as the clinical resource for the vascular laboratory, partnering closely with vascular surgeons, and the Practice Manager to ensure exceptional patient care, operational excellence, quality improvement, and continued compliance with IAC accreditation standards.

Primary Responsibilities Clinical Leadership- Serve as the clinical leader for the vascular laboratory.
- Mentor, coach, and onboard new sonographers.
- Perform competency assessments and provide ongoing feedback.
- Promote consistency in vascular ultrasound protocols.
- Assist with workflow optimization and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with physicians and management.
- Participate in leadership meetings and departmental planning.
- Perform comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations including carotid duplex, lower extremity arterial and venous duplex, venous insufficiency, upper extremity arterial and venous studies, dialysis access evaluations, aortoiliac studies, abdominal venous studies, and post-operative surveillance.
- Maintain IAC accreditation standards.
- Perform quarterly peer review audits.
- Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Assist with annual IAC accreditation preparation.
- Review image quality and protocol compliance.
- Promote best practices throughout the vascular laboratory.
- Assist with scheduling and daily laboratory workflow.
- Monitor patient access and ultrasound capacity.
- Collaborate regarding staffing needs.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and vendor communication.
- Identify workflow improvements.
- Support growth initiatives.
- ARDMS RVT or CCI RVS credential.
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Minimum three years vascular ultrasound experience.
- Five or more years of vascular ultrasound experience.
- Previous lead/supervisory experience.
- Experience in an IAC-accredited vascular laboratory.
- Experience working directly with vascular surgeons.
- Experience mentoring sonographers.
