Job Summary

The Program Coordinator is assigned to the Building Tomorrow: STEM and Opportunity project based in Jordan.

The Building Tomorrow program aims to create a supportive environment for secondary school-aged youth by increasing access to STEM careers and ultimately creating more prosperous, safe and secure futures and communities. The program works with local partners, schools, and the private sector to equip youth with essential soft skills, STEM and digital literacy skills, and diverse exposure to STEM careers.

The Program Coordinator will be working on the daily implementation of Building Tomorrow. They will be working with the Program Lead and Program Specialist on the development and execution of project work products, including but not limited to program deliverables, timelines, reports, and other products identified.

The daily tasks include:

  • Liaise closely with program partners and private sector stakeholders to support the achievement of program goals and objectives.
  • Conduct monitoring trips and field visits across Jordan to support program implementation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to program Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activities, including data collection, documentation, and reporting.
  • Support event planning, procurement, logistics, and coordination for program activities and events.
  • Collaborate with the program team to support the delivery of Training of Trainers (ToT) activities.
  • Performs additional duties and tasks to meet the needs of the organization, team, or as assigned by manager.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge related to effective implementation of youth skills-building programs in Jordan, including positive youth development and STEM education.
  • Experience supporting Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activities, including data collection and reporting, preferred.
  • Experience contributing towards large events including procurement and logistics.
  • Experience working with schoolchildren is desirable.
  • Demonstrated relationship building and management skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • High degree of initiative, organization, and attention to detail
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values
  • Excellent ability to remain flexible and collaborative while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt course if needed to meet program outcomes
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products
  • Excellent cross-cultural and interpersonal communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Arabic

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience, preferably working with schoolchildren and youth.
  • Experience in contributing to planning large events and procurement is desirable.
  • Experience supporting Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activities, including data collection and reporting, preferred.
  • Very good command of English and Arabic Language is required (both written and oral).
  • Experience supporting collaboration with local partners and contributing to coordination activities.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Work with a consortium of partners to implement the Building Tomorrow project in Jordan.
  • Contribute technical input into the development and adaptation of program materials.
  • Contribute to procurement for the program.
  • Contribute to work-plans, quarterly reports, final reports, success stories, talking points, and other types of programmatic documents.
  • Coordinate organization of program meetings and events, in person or online as appropriate (check-ins, trainings, workshops, working group meetings, etc.).
  • Travel throughout Jordan to participate in program events and meetings.
  • Supply technical assistance in relevant areas of expertise.
  • Work with the Program Lead and Specialist to support sub awardees including day-to-day communication and ensuring the delivery of the milestones in accordance with the deadlines and indicators set.
  • Maintain a positive and collaborative atmosphere among team members and partners.
  • Interact regularly with industry representatives, government officials, schools, trainers, civil society and media groups, and other program stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with partners to leverage resources and expertise for program success.
  • Regularly collaborate with IREX staff and partners   
  • Contribute to program procurement processes
  • Collaborate with the program team and partners to proactively gather and use feedback to inform decisions.

Please note: While we aim to offer competitive compensation, not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
