Retirement Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Retirement Consultant based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to help individuals make confident decisions about their financial future through meaningful retirement conversations.

Accountabilities:

In this client-facing role, you will build trusted relationships with retirement plan members, provide personalized guidance, and help clients navigate important financial decisions. You will contribute to a high-performing sales environment focused on delivering value, education, and exceptional client experiences.

  • Connect with existing retirement plan members through proactive outreach and relationship-building conversations.
  • Guide clients through retirement planning discussions, helping them understand available options and make informed decisions.
  • Provide personalized recommendations aligned with clients’ financial goals, life stages, and retirement needs.
  • Translate complex financial concepts into clear, accessible advice that clients can easily understand.
  • Build trust with clients by listening actively, identifying needs, and delivering solutions that support their financial objectives.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of products, services, industry trends, and retirement planning practices.
  • Contribute to team success by sharing insights, collaborating with colleagues, and continuously improving client experiences.
  • Manage conversations and sales activities while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, quality, and client outcomes.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a motivated and client-oriented professional with strong communication skills and an interest in financial services. You should be comfortable working independently, building relationships, and guiding clients through important financial decisions.

  • 1–3 years of related sales experience, preferably within financial services, wealth management, or a client advisory environment.
  • Valid and active Life Insurance License (LLQP).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect authentically with clients.
  • Ability to listen carefully, understand client needs, and provide thoughtful recommendations.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently in a flexible environment.
  • Strong curiosity and willingness to continuously learn about financial products, tools, and market trends.
  • Confidence in asking questions, uncovering client needs, and supporting consultative sales conversations.
  • Experience selling wealth products over the phone is an asset.
  • College or university degree is preferred.
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), financial planning designation, Canadian Securities Course (CSC), or Canadian Investment Fund Course (IFIC) are considered assets.
