Job Description

Metriq Health is a physician-led practice that pairs meaningful measurement with careful interpretation, personalized treatment, and long-term follow-through. We help patients answer three questions: Where does my health stand today? What matters most? What should I do next? Our model combines the clinical discipline of evidence-based medicine with the time, measurement, personalization, and longitudinal follow-through that conventional care often struggles to provide. As an early member of the clinical team, you will work alongside the founders and help set the standards future Metriq Health clinicians practice by.

Metriq Health is hiring a Nurse Practitioner to join a physician-led clinical team in Thousand Oaks, with a second location opening in Santa Barbara in early 2027. You will work directly with Thomas R. Anderson, MD, our Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer, caring for adults across hormone health, metabolic health, weight management, body composition, and healthy aging.

This is a role for a clinician who wants time to think, practice evidence-based medicine thoughtfully, and follow patients longitudinally. We pay $135,000 to $165,000 in base salary depending on experience and provide medical, dental, and vision benefits. You will have meaningful responsibility for patient care from the start and a real role in shaping the clinical protocols and care model Metriq Health builds as we grow.

What you will do

  • See new and follow-up patients and take a full picture of their history, medications, supplements, lifestyle, and goals.
  • Evaluate and manage perimenopause, menopause, male hormonal health, and related endocrine concerns, including hormone therapy when the evidence and the patient support it.
  • Lead patients through our Metabolic Weight Management program, pairing GLP-1 and other pharmacotherapy when appropriate with body composition, nutrition, resistance training, and long-term maintenance.
  • Integrate labs, DEXA, cardiovascular and metabolic testing, sleep assessments, and wearable data into clear, evidence-based care plans with measurable goals.
  • Prescribe and adjust medications within California scope and your furnishing authority, and track efficacy, safety, tolerability, and adherence over time.
  • Escalate, order further workup, or refer when a finding needs more than we offer in clinic.
  • Partner with Dr. Anderson to develop the clinical protocols, decision frameworks, and care pathways that will define how future Metriq Health clinicians practice.
  • Take part in patient education programs such as Wellness Wednesdays and The Metriq Health Brief.

What we offer

  • $135,000 to $165,000 base salary, set by experience and certification.
  • Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) through Human Interest.
  • Paid time off that grows with tenure, paid holidays, and paid sick leave.
  • Short-term disability coverage.
  • Structured training and mentorship in our approach to hormone health, metabolic care, body composition, and longitudinal data interpretation. You do not need to arrive knowing every piece of our model.
  • A seat at the table as we open Santa Barbara and build new clinical programs.

Schedule and location

  • Full time, salaried, exempt.
  • Based in Thousand Oaks to start. Once our Santa Barbara location opens in 2027, you will split each week between the two clinics, two days at one and three at the other.
  • Target start: March 2027.

What you need

  • Active California RN license and California Board of Registered Nursing Nurse Practitioner certification, both in good standing.
  • National board certification as FNP, AGPCNP (including legacy ANP), or WHNP (AANP, ANCC, or NCC).
  • California furnishing number.
  • DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain it before your start date.
  • Clinical judgment and comfort managing adults with several interconnected health issues at once.
  • Plain, direct communication with patients about what the evidence supports and where it is still thin.
  • Reliable documentation, follow-through, and safety monitoring.
  • Ability to work at both locations once Santa Barbara opens.

Nice to have (we will train the right clinician)

  • Menopause, testosterone, or broader hormone health experience.
  • Obesity or metabolic medicine.
  • DEXA and body composition interpretation.
  • Cardiometabolic risk reduction, sleep health, or preventive and lifestyle medicine.
  • AB 890 “103 NP” or “104 NP” status.

Who does well here

You are comfortable saying both “the evidence supports this” and “the evidence is not there yet.” New science interests you, and you can tell novelty from clinical value. You treat an abnormal lab as a question, and you know more testing is not always better medicine. You want to help build a clinic with standards that move as the evidence moves.
