ATA Services, Inc. is currently seeking qualified Cadre / Residential Advisors (RA) for a temporary assignment with the New Mexico National Guard Job ChalleNGe Academy (NMNGJCA) in Albuquerque, NM.
Position Details
- Pay: $25.00 per hour, paid weekly
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Location: NMNGJCA Campus – Albuquerque, NM
- Schedule: Overnight, 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM
- Assignment: Temporary
Position Summary
Cadre / Residential Advisors provide direct supervision, leadership, mentorship, and character development for young adults residing at the New Mexico National Guard Job ChalleNGe Academy. This position supports the Academy's 24/7 residential program and helps maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment.
Essential Duties
- Supervise students and maintain accountability and safety during residential activities.
- Redirect inappropriate or at-risk behaviors using approved behavioral modification techniques.
- Teach and enforce disciplinary procedures and institutional standards of conduct.
- Lead and participate in physical fitness activities and exercises.
- Mentor students and assist them in developing personal goals and pathways to success.
- Maintain accurate daily logs documenting student behavior, discipline, activities, and milestones.
- Conduct scheduled physical fitness and life-skills instructional activities.
- Follow all applicable National Guard Bureau Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Academy policies.
- Maintain professional standards and contribute to a structured residential environment.
Personnel/Position will:
- Apply military practices and principles of guiding and training for an assigned team of Associates while exercising responsibility for their daily activities.Instruct on the NMNGYCA Eight Core Components.Provide military structure, discipline, and quasi-military training.Utilize behavioral intervention techniques when required and/or directed by the supervisor.Coordinate student daily and weekly schedules to ensure the academic, physical training and personal development are completed and program goals are met.Implement daily program activities, including physical fitness programs, instruction in military-like customs and courtesies, to include drill and ceremonies.Conduct Associate inspections and unit formations and rates cadet performance.Transport and supervise Associates to off-site activities when required.Provide general support for Academy operations and events.Provide general first aid, if necessary.
The ideal candidate has experience in the following:
- Mentoring individuals;Training and providing guidance to individuals;Providing motivational or team building instruction;Working with youth ages 17-20; and/orPrior military experience.
