In Flight Inc., is a nonprofit that provides support services within a home environment and the community for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).


This is not a remote position. No out of state applicants will be reviewed. This is a 40 hour position Monday- Friday.


SCOPE OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED: The QA/Compliance Specialist will provide support to the Quality Assurance/Corporate Compliance department through conducting internal audits as well as investigations.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL TASKS

  • Conducts internal audits of all program areas.
  • Provide verbal and written feedback to the appropriate parties from audit
  • Complete written reports on audit findings
  • Tracks audit deficiencies through SharePoint and reports information to VP of QA
  • Maintain and keep updated on regulatory requirements
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and only share authorized information as needed.
  • Other administrative duties pertaining to investigations and program audits as requested by VP of QA
  • Conduct internal investigations in regard to 624 & 625 regulations
  • Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance team to triage reports received and make recommendations, where applicable.
  • Assist with filing allegations of abuse and neglect, reportable incidents, notable occurrences, as well as 625 events and situations through the state reporting system Incident Management Application "IRMA"
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates degree
  • 3 years of OPWDD experience preferred, knowledge of program administration is a plus
  • Understanding of QA/Corporate Compliance procedures preferred
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality.
  • Work well as part of a team in the office.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must
  • Certification in conducting investigations is required and must be obtained within 6 months of hire date
  • SKILLS

    Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    Math: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

    Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The employee must be able to lift up to 20lbs.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Conditions of Employment: The employee agrees to comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations and standards of conduct relating to the position. All staff must pass all NYS Justice Center Background Check Requirements based on job duties if needed and Physical. In addition, the employee has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law (including any motor vehicle infractions) to the Human Resources Department.
