Position Overview:
The Family Services Supervisor (Bilingual) is responsible for overseeing Family Services Staff and ensuring the safe, structured, and supportive delivery of services within a federally contracted ICE Short-Term Residential Facility.
This position provides direct supervision, guidance, and support to staff responsible for resident supervision, family engagement, daily activities, basic care services, documentation, and case management support functions. The Family Services Supervisor ensures services are delivered in accordance with federal contract requirements, facility policies, trauma-informed care principles, and established safety standards.
The population served may include family units with minor children, pregnant women, adult residents, and other individuals representing diverse cultural, linguistic, and national backgrounds.
The Family Services Supervisor oversees staff responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive environment for children and families, ensuring appropriate supervision, age-appropriate activities, family engagement, and access to services throughout their stay. This role requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively manage staff and operations within a fast-paced, 24-hour residential environment.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Staff Supervision & Leadership
Supervise Family Services Staff during assigned shifts to ensure effective and compliant service delivery.Provide coaching, guidance, and performance oversight to direct care personnel.Ensure staff compliance with supervision protocols, documentation standards, facility procedures, and professional conduct requirements.Conduct shift briefings and ensure effective communication between incoming and outgoing teams.Monitor staffing assignments and operational coverage to ensure adequate resident supervision at all times.Support employee development through training, mentoring, and performance feedback.Address employee concerns and elevate personnel issues to management as appropriate.Resident Supervision & Family Services Oversight
Ensure appropriate supervision and monitoring of residents throughout the facility.Ensure children and families are provided a safe, structured, and supportive environment.Oversee staff responsible for facilitating age-appropriate recreational, educational, and family-centered activities.Ensure residents have access to basic necessities, hygiene supplies, clothing, meals, and facility services.Support staff in responding to resident concerns, requests, and behavioral challenges using trauma-informed approaches.Promote dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions with residents.Assist with orientation activities and ensure residents understand facility expectations, available services, and safety procedures.Monitor resident movement and participation in scheduled activities.Ensure family units remain together when appropriate and in accordance with facility requirements.Incident Response & Behavioral Support
Respond to resident concerns, behavioral incidents, and emergency situations as required.Provide direction to staff regarding de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention, and appropriate response procedures.Ensure incidents are documented accurately and reported through appropriate channels.Escalate significant safety, security, medical, or operational concerns to facility leadership.Assist in coordinating responses to resident grievances and service concerns.Compliance & Documentation
Review supervision logs, activity records, incident reports, and other operational documentation.Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant recordkeeping.Assist with audits, inspections, monitoring activities, and corrective action efforts.Support implementation of federal, state, and contractual requirements governing facility operations.Ensure documentation meets all facility, company, and government standards.Enter and maintain resident information, service records, and case notes in facility databases and case management systems.Review documentation for completeness and accuracy and ensure required documentation is maintained in accordance with program requirements.Assist with resident intake, discharge, transfer, and service tracking processes.Support case management staff by collecting, organizing, and maintaining required resident documentation.Generate reports and provide administrative support related to resident services, program operations, and compliance activities.Interdisciplinary Coordination
Coordinate with medical personnel, behavioral health staff, operations teams, and facility leadership.Facilitate communication regarding resident needs and operational concerns.Support continuity of services during admissions, transfers, and discharges.Support coordination of services for families and children during their stay within the facility.Safety, Ethics & Professional Conduct
Ensure compliance with all confidentiality, reporting, and resident protection requirements.Enforce standards of professional conduct and ethical behavior.Ensure staff adherence to mandatory reporting requirements and facility safety protocols.Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and resident dignity.Enforce policies regarding resident interactions, boundaries, favoritism, and conflicts of interest.Required Qualifications & Core Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.Minimum three (3) years of experience in residential services, family services, direct care, social services, or a related field.Minimum one (1) year of supervisory or team lead experience.Experience working with children, families, vulnerable populations, or culturally diverse populations.Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills.Ability to maintain professionalism and sound judgment in stressful situations.Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure effective communication with staff, visitors, government officials and other contractor personnelMust be bilingual (Spanish preferred, but will consider candidates bilingual in other commonly encountered languages)Experience with data entry, electronic records management, or case management systems preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and utilize resident tracking, case management, and reporting systems.Experience maintaining accurate records and working with confidential information.Desired Skills:
Experience working with diverse populations.Training or experience in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, behavioral support, or de-escalation techniques.Experience in residential facilities, shelters, family services programs, detention settings, or other 24-hour operations.Experience working on government contracts or within federally regulated environments.Conditions of Employment:

Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility for extended periods.Ability to respond quickly to operational incidents and emergencies.Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds.Ability to sit for extended periods while completing documentation and reports.Visual acuity sufficient to monitor facility operations and review documentation.Auditory ability sufficient to communicate effectively and respond to operational concerns.Work Environment:
