Description: SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Part Time Parks and Recreation Recreational Leader/Front Desk Attendant as welcomed additions to
the San Marcos Senior Activity Center
- Monday through Friday: 8am - 12pm
Part Time positions are limited to working no more than an average of 20 hours per week and no more than 999 hours per fiscal year. Specific hours for each position are determined per department programmatic needs and per budgetary approval.

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
Under general supervision, serves as a key member of the Senior Center team, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a dynamic, high-volume environment. Performs a wide range of front office and reception duties essential to the daily operation of the Center, including participant registration, data entry, record maintenance, document preparation, filing, and responding to inquiries both in person and by telephone.
Acts as the primary point of contact for visitors, creating a welcoming and positive experience for seniors, volunteers, and community members. Assists with the implementation of classes, programs, special events, and activities; supports facility operations by preparing rooms and equipment for use; monitors facility usage to ensure a safe and organized environment; and helps facilitate the smooth delivery of services and programs that enhance the quality of life for older adults. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.

This is a part time non-benefited position, however effective 07/01/2015 part time employees will receive 1 hour of sick leave accrual per 30 hours worked. Employees in this category are eligible to use up to 27 hours per year and are able to carry over up to 54 sick leave hours per year.
