Summary:
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Access Control Specialist (ACS) to support secure facility operations across multiple locations in support of the FBI Operational Technology Division (OTD). This position is responsible for managing visitor access control procedures, maintaining security protocols, and supporting daily security operations in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Staff visitor control desks during designated working hours.
- Verifying clearances
- Conducting records checks
- Entering visitor information into appropriate databases
- Coordinating visitor notifications with designated personnel
- Issue badges and identification credentials in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Monitor and control facility access while maintaining strict adherence to security protocols.
- Perform database queries and data entry across multiple security systems and databases.
- Support monthly database validation activities and coordinate with points of contact to verify contractor requirements.
- Process Limited Access Requests (LARs), including coordination of approvals, database updates, and associated documentation.
- Conduct visitor and property screening using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security equipment.
- Perform visual inspections when screening equipment is unavailable.
- Complete all required equipment training, testing, and calibration activities.
- Monitor CCTV systems and report security concerns or suspicious activity.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Active Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a security-related field, such as:
- Industrial security
- Physical security
- Computer/network security
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software, including:
- Excel (advanced spreadsheet creation and management)
- PowerPoint (briefing preparation)
- Word
- Adobe Acrobat
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to maintain professionalism in all interactions.
- Ability to work collaboratively, cross-train, and adapt to changing operational requirements.
Additional Requirements
- Must be flexible and willing to adjust schedules or report to alternate locations with limited notice.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a high-security environment.
- Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to mission support.
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to Relocate:
- Quantico, VA: Relocate before starting work (Required)
