Lifeguard / Swim Instructor

Reporting to the Supervisor of Aquatics, the Lifeguard / Swim Instructor is responsible for providing safe supervision of recreational swim hours and instructing programs at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre.
Key Responsibilities:- Instruct Lifesaving Society swim programs.
- Provide safety supervision of recreational swim hours.
- Maintain, develop, and provide documentation related to swim instruction, lifeguarding, and aquatic area tasks.
- General maintenance of the pool and deck areas.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, applicable regulations, as well as the Municipality’s Health and Safety Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must hold current National Lifeguard award.
- Must hold current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification.
- Must hold current Standard/Intermediate First Aid/CPR/AED Level “C” certification.
- Current Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor award an asset.
- Must obtain a satisfactory police clearance upon hire.
Hours of work will vary to a maximum of 1440 hours per calendar year.
