Job Description
Store Manager- Mid-Size Volume
Bachman's Plymouth
Bachman’s is hiring a mid-volume Store Manager for our Bachman’s Plymouth location. This individual will plan and execute all store activities, lead exempt and non-exempt teams, and drive results to achieve sales and profit goals. Position Duties:
Revenue Generation
- Develop a high-performance culture, motivating team to meet assigned sales and productivity goals.
- Analyze sales reports to determine the needs of the business; in partnership with Assistant Store Managers, executes in store business and sales strategies.
- Train and coach to ensure selling team is fluent in all aspects of product knowledge.
- Drive the financial performance of the store by ensuring that sales and profit goals are achieved, including leading the leadership team in controlling expenses.
Store Operations
- Successfully demonstrate the company Core Values of: Passion, Caring, Inspiring, Committed and Never Settle.
- Plan strategically and demonstrate the ability to determine goals, direction and actions.
- Get things done. Motivate self and others to accomplish important objectives despite a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- React quickly and appropriately to problems in the store; follow up in a timely manner to issues not immediately resolvable; tie up all loose ends.
- Communicate new initiatives, leadership messages, and promotions.
- Control payroll budget by creating and approving schedules based on business needs and monitor store staffing levels.
- Follow and lead best practices.
- Perform and oversee basic operational activities such as scheduling, physical inventory, opening and closing duties, time sheet review, payroll accuracy documents, and merchandise flow.
- Understand and enforce all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model; holds associates to a high safety standard.
Customer Service
- Ensure a fast and efficient register experience, remaining current on policies regarding payments, coupon acceptance, returns and exchanges.
- Foster a customer experience that goes beyond the ordinary and inspires customer loyalty.
- Ensure team maintains consistent rewards program participation.
- Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns.
People Management
- Build relationships. Establish trust and credibility with people over time; establish rapport with people; have smooth working relationships with people inside and outside of the organization.
- Establish and communicate clear expectations, holding store team and themselves accountable for achieving all brand, performance, and behavior standards.
- Accountable for personnel issues including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
- Communicate with store teams to effectively lead positive change.
- Assess and coaches store team on performance.
- Ensure that store team adheres to all employment practices and policies.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring and developing a high performing team.
Product Management
- Ensure visual presentation, organization, and facility maintenance are representative of Bachman’s.
- Lead and/or assign daily tasks including merchandising, stocking and inventory disposition of product.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in retail management capacity or equivalent.
- Associates degree in Horticulture, or related post-secondary education.
- MNLA certification preferred or become certified within 3 years is required.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with and build relationships with customers and staff.
- Good writing and verbal communication skills.
- Technical knowledge including POS systems, Window’s, and Excel.
- Knowledge of merchandise and display.
- High energy level, with the ability to provide strong leadership, train, delegate, and motivate staff.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Bachman’s retail supervisory or management capacity.
- Four-year college degree; business, marketing, and horticulture experienced.
- Good knowledge of Bachman’s policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of garden and floral products.
- Demonstrated excellent performance at Bachman’s.
Schedule:
- Normal work schedule is 45 – 50 hours /week including 2 close shifts and 4 weekend days per month during non-peak months.
- Seasonal demands of long hours during peak season (spring and holiday) up to 60 hours / week.
