Job Summary: The Intermediate Universal Banker is responsible for providing all Minnwest Bank customers with a professional and courteous customer experience, from sales to service. Responsible for providing solutions to satisfy customers' financial needs by opening new deposit accounts handle customer deposit transactions. This position will also cross-sell bank retail and business products and services, as well as service existing account relationships. This position consists of extensive customer contact and requires strong communication skills, professionalism, customer focus and computer system proficiency.
This position requires traveling to the Minnwest Bank Training Center in Eagan, MN for Universal Banker Training twice a year. If the local branch location has a bank vehicle, the bank vehicle should be booked for this travel. If not, the Universal Banker will be paid mileage while using their own vehicle.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Minimum Requirements:• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) • 2 years cash handling in a customer facing role • 2 years customer service experience • 1 year of experience in retail banking, or financial sevices in a customer facing sales role • 1 year consumer, business, and fidcuciary account opening or proven proficiency in Minnwest Consumer, Business and Fiduciary Account Training • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner • Dependable, organized, self-motivated team player • Willing to continuously learn and grow within the organization • Intermediate level computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:• 2 to 5 years of consumer and business account openings, closings, and maintenance • 2-year associate degree • Effective time Management skills including the ability to prioritize workload based on department and customer needs • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services • Strong analytical and decision-making skills • Knowledge of credit and regulatory policy as it relates to consumer lending
Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8 am - 5 pmUniversal Banker/Virtual Banker Pay differential for Saturdays and travel to other locations Language stipend available for bilingual employees
Workplace Environment:• Requires face-to-face interaction and coordination of work with customers, other employees and departments, and in-person interaction. • Working at a computer and utilizing a telephone • Occasionally lifting up to 50lbs
Pay Range: $22.40-$25.20/hour

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- 1. Provide prompt and courteous customer service to all Minnwest Bank customers by identifying and recommending bank products and services to fulfill their needs.
- 2. Open new consumer and business deposit accounts, cross-sell bank products and services, and accurately prepare and process all deposit account paperwork for new and existing customer accounts.
- 3. Process transactions as requested, recognizing red flags regarding fraud and scams.
- 4. Provide referrals and other opportunities to other business lines, e.g., insurance, real estate, etc.
- 5. Proactively promote and identify cross-selling opportunities to achieve individual, team, and organizational sales and service goals.
- 6. Assist existing customers with account changes or inquiries and assist customers with any issues or questions they may encounter with their online products/services.
- 7. Perform teller functions as outlined in the Teller standard operating procedures, including, but not limited to, receiving checks and cash for deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, issuing receipts, issuing cashier’s checks, cashing checks, and paying out funds upon verification of signature and balance, balancing of cash drawer and maintaining established cash level.
- 8. Travel to Minnwest Bank branches within the market, performing all Universal Banker duties, to provide adequate staffing coverage due to unexpected illnesses, PTO, etc.
- 9. Maintain knowledgeable on all bank products and services.
- 10. Comply with Minnwest Bank policies and procedures.
- 11. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Occasional travel to the Minnwest Bank Training Center in Eagan, MN for Universal Banker Training.
