Kennel Tech - Luxury Dog Resort in Houston, Texas at Peace Love and Dogs

About Peace Love and Dogs

At Peace Love Dogs, we've spent 15 years living up to our promise: "Your Dog's Favorite Place. Your Peace of Mind." That's what we deliver for our clients — and it's who we strive to be as a team. Our culture is built on peace, love, and dogs: a warm, hospitality-driven environment where people genuinely care for each other, our clients and every dog in our care.

Our luxury dog resort offers the best in Lodging, Training, Daycare and Grooming. Because pets and their families don't keep a 9-to-5 schedule, neither do we. We're proud to operate 24/7/365, so we're there for our clients whenever they need us most — evenings, weekends, holidays, no exceptions. At the same time, we focus on our team's work life balance through scheduled days off to relax and reset, offering paid vacation and holidays, provide meaningful training and more. Showing up for each other is what makes it possible to show up for our clients.

If you're looking for purposeful work, a dog and people-friendly workplace, and a team that treats hospitality and pet care as a craft, we'd love to meet you.

About the role:

At Peace Love Dogs, lodging is more than boarding—it’s a personalized, elevated experience designed around each dog’s comfort, care, and happiness. Our Lodging Technicians are at the heart of that experience.

This role is hands-on, active, and meaningful. You’ll spend your day working directly with dogs—providing enrichment, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and delivering the kind of thoughtful care that gives the dog a great experience and the owners peace of mind. Weekends, holidays and summer are our busiest times, and often when our clients need us the most. This role requires weekend shifts to provide the best care for dogs staying with us!

What you'll do:

• Provide attentive, hands-on care for dogs staying in our lodging program
• Lead enrichment activities, play sessions, and individualized interactions
• Monitor dog's overall well-being throughout the day
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment across all lodging areas
• Work as part of a team to ensure every dog’s stay is safe, comfortable, and enjoyable

What you bring:

• A genuine love for dogs and a strong sense of responsibility for their care
• Confidence handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments (including large dogs 100+ lbs)
• Ability to read dog body language and respond appropriately to ensure safe interactions
• Strong attention to detail—especially with dog wellness, cleaning, and sanitation
• Reliability and consistency—our dogs (and their owners) depend on it
• Ability to stay calm, focused, and positive in a fast-paced, active environment
• Weekday and weekend availability, including Saturday and/or Sunday
• Prior kennel tech experience and working with dogs is a plus, but we will train!

What PLD offers:

• A luxury, enrichment-focused environment where dogs are active and engaged
• A team that values care, professionalism, and doing the job the right way
• Opportunities to grow within a structured, supportive environment
• The chance to be part of something meaningful—caring for dogs as if they were your own
• Medical, Dental and Vision insurance
• Paid Time Off
• Paid Holidays
• Professional Development Assistance
• Employee discount on PLD programs and services
