- St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers uses EPIC as our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Ability to work remotely at least one day per week.

Your Working Environment & Team. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. You would be joining a team of family physicians, nurse practitioners, RNs, pediatricians, OB-GYNs, dentists, specialists (optometrist, podiatrist), licensed clinical social workers, mental health professionals, case managers, health educators, registered dietitians, LVNs, and promotoras. This position is assigned primarily to our Orange location.

About the position. This position is an integral member of the SJNHC operations and Quality Improvement team, responsible for defining performance measures through the development and reporting of clinical, financial, and operational indicators. The goal is to improve quality, service, process efficiency, clinical efficiency, and cost by providing opportunity identification, data sources, data collection, data analysis, workflow analysis, statistical analysis, benchmark determination, process improvement design, training, coordination, measurements of outcomes, written and graphic reports, and data presentation. This position will serve as a resource to the SJNHC leadership team, initiating, coordinating, and providing expertise for analytic projects.
- Responsible for leading the preparation and submission of an accurate HRSA Uniform Data System report and State HCAI Utilization Reports. Maintain knowledge of current and changing regulatory report requirements.
- Designs, develops, and maintains databases to collect, organize, and analyze primary and secondary data obtained from internal and external sources (Epic RWB, Slicer Dicer, Infoview, Power BI, WEBI, etc.).
- Collaborates and provides analysis and interpretation of data, identifying key trends and opportunities for improved performance, comparing health systems, peer group, and comparative groups as appropriate, including national benchmarking.
- Identifies and uses internal and external sources of information for benchmarking and comparative performance, which includes networking with clinical communities (IHI, OCPH, CPCA, etc.), researching literature and agencies (CMS, NCQA, HRSA, BPHC), and staying current on new indicators and other requirements.
- Prepares reports, charts, tables, and other graphic displays of data that demonstrate performance compared to targets/goals, national benchmarks, and/or peer groups. This includes designing and generating system-level reports, dashboards, and/or scorecards.
- Extracts and validates the outcome data and other quality/safety initiatives.
- Creates standard work for the production of reports, including report templates and reports that can be auto populated.
- Perform analytical and special projects; prepare ad hoc reports/data queries as assigned or requested, working with leadership.
- Plans work activities, establishes priorities and schedules, reprioritizes work as directives change, follows up on action required, responds in a timely manner, meets scheduled deadlines, and devises and implements contingency plans.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with other departments within SJNHC or at the ministries.
Salary:
$67,893 – $90,926 Yearly DOE (Salary based on a 40-hour work week)
Paid Time Off:
- Approximately 3 weeks based on a 40-hour work week

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, information systems or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum five years’ experience in a business analyst role in healthcare/related field.
- Three years of experience in SQL and Epic reporting (RWB, Slicer Dicer, Infoview, Power BI, WEBI, etc.).
- Experience working with teams.
- Additional experience in data collection, analysis, quality/safety, or database development/software solutions.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of business analytical practices and methodologies.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; strong financial/math skills
- Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements within a healthcare setting.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to organize and coordinate data analysis for clinical decision-making, research, and program evaluation.
- Ability to validate and recognize trends and errors.
- Ability to translate data into appropriate output for reports and presentations that are meaningful and useful for constituents.
- Understanding relational databases, their design, linked tables, and the proper combination of tables from multiple databases.
- Demonstration of skills in SQL.
