Job Description
The Marketing Support Specialist will provide general support by coordinating efforts across different facets of marketing campaigns, including media relations, reputation management, and digital marketing. As the marketing team’s primary coordinator of campaign logistical information, the position will ensure that all tactical elements come together smoothly to translate strategic visions into actionable plans. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities, with the ability to prioritize, communicate, and collaborate effectively while working efficiently under pressure. Work is performed under the general direction of the Marketing & Communications Director. This position has clearly defined annual performance goals.
Hiring Salary Range: $57,000 - $65,000

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to help organize logistical information required to develop marketing and communications campaigns.
- Work closely with various team members, relating to graphic design, photography, content creation, and digital marketing, to ensure alignment and consistency across all marketing channels.
- Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of marketing materials.
- Receive, inventory, and distribute marketing collateral while maintaining accurate tracking systems.
Media Relations & Reputation Management:
- Assist with writing, distributing, and posting news releases and digital images to promote upcoming events and announce programs.
- Conduct research to respond to inquiries from reporters, staff, and members of the public in a timely and accurate manner.
- Respond to inquiries and requests from the media via phone and email with professionalism and consistency in messaging.
- Promote upcoming events on community calendars and blogs to expand audience reach.
- Respond to comments and inquiries from the public on social media and other platforms while supporting positive brand reputation.
Digital Marketing:
- Assist in the preparation of marketing presentations and reports, enabling continuous improvement and optimized resource allocation.
- Assist with updating information in the content management system (CMS) to ensure accuracy and consistency across digital platforms.
- Provide support in scheduling and managing social media content calendars.
- Assist with updating customer emails to promote events, amenities, and attractions using targeted messaging.
- Publicize upcoming events and exhibitions through digital and electronic media channels, including posting information, graphics, and links on internal and external websites.
Marketing Operations:
- Leverage strong organizational and communication skills to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing operations and campaigns.
- Assist with researching, writing, editing, and proofreading a variety of publications, including the electronic employee newsletter, press/news releases, brochures, and other publications as needed.
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of marketing files and assets using established systems and best practices.
- Support planning, coordination, and execution of events through completion.
- Serve as training coordinator and perform routine administrative duties to support departmental operations.
- Perform related work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (minimum)
Education: Graduation from an accredited college/university with a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related degree, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, public information, and graphic production or publications editing work; three years of experience with desktop graphic publishing and experience with writing and editing information for wide distribution under deadlines; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides:
- Proficiency using project management systems, such as Asana or Wrike.
- Good knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices used in marketing and promotions.
- Knowledge of the preparation of news reports, press releases, and informational literature.
- Ability to write and edit various forms of informational materials for diverse audiences.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with staff, the public, and the news media.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing tools.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, campaigns, and effective social media marketing strategies.
- Ability to carry out organizational goals and objectives through planned work projects and programs.
- Ability to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the organization, its history, traditions, and policies.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends to ensure timely social media presence and web updates.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Physical: Non-manual work with strength and dexterity necessary to perform required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in both indoor and outdoor settings.
