As Director of Human Resources, you will help shape and lead the people strategies, employee experience, and HR operations that support our teams nationwide.
This is an onsite leadership role based in our corporate office, requiring a strong in-person presence and close partnership with leaders and teams across the business.
What You Do
As the Director of Human Resources at Kustom US, you bring strategic leadership and operational execution to the HR function while helping build scalable, people-focused practices across the organization. You balance strategy and execution across employee relations, compliance, leave administration, performance management, HR operations, and team leadership. You are successful in this role by:
Leading HR Strategy & Operations- Partnering with leaders to align HR priorities with business goals and operational needs
- Leading and developing the HR team while driving accountability, responsiveness, and service excellence
- Improving HR processes, systems, reporting, and workflows to strengthen efficiency, scalability, and compliance
- Supporting organizational growth, workforce planning, restructures, acquisitions, and change initiatives
- Enhancing onboarding, learning, and employee development programs across the organization
- Supporting manager effectiveness through coaching, communication, and performance management guidance
- Identifying opportunities to improve engagement, retention, accountability, and the overall employee experience
- Leading employee relations strategy, investigations, corrective action, and complex workplace matters
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across a multi-state environment
- Overseeing leave administration, accommodations, and return-to-work processes
- Supporting policy development, risk mitigation, and consistent HR practices across the organization
You are a collaborative, solutions-oriented HR leader who can navigate complexity, build trust quickly, and drive practical outcomes in a fast-moving environment. You thrive in this role because you bring:
Progressive HR Leadership Experience- 8-10+ years of progressive HR experience across employee relations, compliance, HR operations, performance management, and leadership support
- 3-5+ years of HR leadership experience managing teams, partnering with senior leaders, and driving cross-functional initiatives
- Experience supporting fast-paced, multi-state operational environments with evolving business needs
- Deep knowledge of multi-state employment law compliance, workplace investigations, corrective action, leave administration, and organizational risk management
- Experience advising leaders through sensitive employee matters with sound judgment, consistency, and professionalism
- California and Washington employment law experience preferred
- Experience improving HR processes, systems, reporting, workflows, and operational efficiency
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution while driving accountability and scalable people practices
- Strong organizational, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
