Job Description
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Artera is seeking a Technical Recruiter and Site Lead who thrives in two modes: as a strategic, relationship driver who excels at hiring great AI and technical talent, and as the hands-on builder of a workplace people love showing up to.
You'll spend about 70% of your time driving full-cycle technical recruiting across AI, engineering, product, and related functions, and the remaining 30% serving as the anchor of our Seattle office — shaping the local employee experience, running engagement programming, and keeping our space running smoothly.
You will also be the face of Artera in Seattle. This is a role for someone who doesn't want to choose between recruiting and people ops — you’ll get to do both well, own a geography, and build a meaningful presence as we launch our next physical hub in Seattle, where we've been growing a remote team for over a year. You will report to the SVP of People to align with our broader talent and people programs, and work closely with our CTO (also Seattle-based) on hiring strategy and local culture, giving you visibility into both the talent strategy and the organization you're hiring for.
- Full Cycle Recruiting and Candidate Experience: Own full-cycle talent acquisition for technical roles — sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and close — ensuring all candidates have an excellent experience throughout the process, regardless of the final outcome.
- AI Talent Sourcing: Build and execute sourcing strategies for AI-forward talent in a highly competitive market
- Stakeholder Partnerships: Partner with hiring managers, the CTO, and other senior leadership members to scope roles, calibrate on bar, and build efficient interview loops
- Pipeline Development: Maintain active talent pipelines in the Seattle AI/tech market
- ATS Hygiene: Use Lever to keep candidate data, communications, and reporting tight
- Recruiting Analytics: Bring a data-informed lens to activities like pipeline health, conversion rates, and time-to-hire
- Artera Brand Representative: Represent Artera's mission and AI-forward culture compellingly to candidates
- Office Operations: Own day-to-day operations of the Seattle office — vendor relationships, space management, supplies, safety
- Local Engagement & Events: Plan and execute local employee engagement: team events, celebrations, and in-office experiences that reinforce our values
- Employee Experience: Serve as the local point person for Seattle employees — their go-to for office questions, new hire onboarding experience, and in-person culture
- People Team Partnership: Partner with the broader People team on company-wide initiatives that land locally
- Visitor Experience: Help visiting employees, candidates, and leaders have a great experience when they're in the Seattle office
- Tenure & Track Record: 5+ years of experience, with a strong track record in technical recruiting (in-house preferred; agency background welcome if paired with in-house experience)
- AI Recruiting Expertise: Proven experience recruiting AI talent — research scientists, ML engineers, applied AI engineers, or similar — in a competitive market
- Technical Hiring Breadth: Demonstrated success hiring software engineers and technical talent broadly
- ATS Fluency: Experience with modern ATS platforms (Lever a plus)
- AI-Native Workflow: Daily hands-on use of AI tools to improve workflows (Claude Code or similar)
- Site & Event Operations: Event planning or office/site management experience — whether formal or picked up along the way
- Self Directed Operator: Comfort operating with autonomy; you don't need a playbook to get started, but you know when to ask
- Culture Builder: Genuine interest in culture-building — you see engagement work as a craft, not a chore
- Trusted Partner: Excellent judgment, discretion, and communication skills
- Onsite Commitment: Ability to be onsite in Seattle 5 days per week (this role is in-person by design with flexibility as needed)
- Experience at a growth-stage AI company
- Background supporting a satellite office or distributed team
- Exposure to tools in our stack: Rippling, Pave
Please only apply if you are able and willing to work out of our Seattle Hub 5 days per week.
We want this to be a fast, transparent, and mutually beneficial process. Here are the steps you can expect from our interview process...
- Phone Screen with Talent Partner: A quick chat with our recruiter to learn about your background, understand your career aspirations, and share detailed insight into the role, team structure, and our high-performance culture. This conversation focuses on planning and prioritization, resilience, candidate experience, and your sourcing and strategy approach.
- Hiring Manager Screen (Virtual): A deeper conversation with the SVP, People to assess role-specific experience, recruiting craft, and how you operate. This stage continues to explore planning and prioritization, resilience, the candidate experience you've built in past roles, and your approach to sourcing and strategy.
- Panel Interview – Culture & Technical (Virtual): Two, 1:1 interviews that assess how you build culture, embody our values, and partner cross-functionally with HR and your technical recruiting depth and fluency recruiting for AI-forward roles.
- Final On-Site Interview: The final stage, where you'll meet with the CTO in our Seattle office. This interview focuses on collaboration, stakeholder management, and your vision for the role and our growing Seattle hub.
