Staff Product Designer (Dev Portal)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Product Designer (Dev Portal) in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the experience of developer-facing products at the core of API and AI connectivity platforms. You will design end-to-end experiences for complex technical workflows used by engineers, platform teams, and developers building modern infrastructure. Working closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, you will translate deeply technical requirements into intuitive, scalable, and elegant design solutions. The environment is fast-moving and highly collaborative, where design plays a central role in product strategy and customer impact. You will contribute to a growing design system while ensuring consistency across a complex product ecosystem. This is a high-impact position for a designer who thrives in technical domains and enjoys solving intricate usability challenges at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the design of complex developer-facing experiences from early discovery and concepting through to high-fidelity UI and delivery
  • Design intuitive, scalable workflows for highly technical API and AI infrastructure products used by engineering and platform teams
  • Apply systems thinking to improve cohesion, usability, and consistency across multiple product surfaces and experiences
  • Conduct and synthesize user research to deeply understand developer needs, jobs-to-be-done, and technical constraints
  • Make data-informed design decisions using customer insights, product metrics, and experimentation results
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align on scope, trade-offs, and execution priorities
  • Contribute to and evolve a shared design system to ensure consistency and scalability across the product ecosystem
  • Communicate design rationale, customer insights, and strategic trade-offs clearly to drive alignment and decision-making
  • Mentor and support other designers while helping elevate overall design quality and practices across the team

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in product design, ideally within developer tools, SaaS platforms, or complex technical products
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating full-cycle design work from discovery through delivery, including system-level thinking and execution
  • Experience designing for developer experiences, including complex workflows, APIs, or infrastructure-related tools
  • Proven ability to conduct user research and translate findings into actionable product and design decisions
  • Strong understanding of data-informed design, including the use of metrics and experimentation to guide decisions
  • Experience working with and contributing to design systems in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and trade-offs
  • Strong visual design skills with attention to detail and pixel-perfect execution
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence product direction in technical environments
  • Experience in mentoring or guiding other designers is a strong plus

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package with potential equity components depending on role level
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Flexible remote-first work environment across the United States
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays
  • Professional development support, including learning resources and growth opportunities
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge API and AI infrastructure products used at global scale
  • Collaborative, design-driven culture with strong emphasis on ownership and impact
