Job Description

Summary:

The Warehouse Management Specialist is responsible for optimizing the daily warehouse operation and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Management – direct receiving, storage, rotation, stock maintenance, distribution, cycle counts, carting, budgeting and reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Responds to after-hours emergencies as needed.
  • Inventory Control – completes work under best practices for inventory control, conducts regular stock counts and cycle counts and reconciles physical data with digital data to maintain high accuracy.
  • Process Optimization – routinely researches, recommends and with approval implements systems to enhance warehouse functionality and reliability. Analyzes logistics data to identify areas in need of improvement, optimize warehouse layout and enforce operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Safety and Compliance – ensures strict adherence to all warehousing, handling and shipping regulations, including OSHA safety standards. Maintain a secure and safe working environment.
  • Logistics Coordination – Liaises with suppliers, transport companies and internal departments to facilitate timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Reporting – prepares regular reports and metrics on warehouse performance, inventory levels and operational efficiency.
  • Warehouse Environment – ensures the warehouse is safe, secure, organized and clean.
  • Data Management – manages all warehouse data, digital and hard-copy format. Responsible for data collection, storage and security. Ensures data accuracy, integrity and completeness. Enters data into online systems and databases.
  • Collaborate – effectively collaborates with other departments across the organization to support AlexRenew’s asset and financial management goals.
  • Actively promotes safe behaviors and health awareness at all times in the execution of daily tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Four (4) years of experience in warehouse operations such as inventory control, stock rotation, data entry and management desired.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in recordkeeping and data entry.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management and co-workers.
  • Ability to apply basic math concepts of addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions as a member of a team.
  • Ability to follow oral instructions promptly and accurately.
  • Ability to use computer software programs, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS systems.
  • Ability to operate forklift.


Physical Demands:

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A detailed Physical Demands Analysis is available in Human Resources and a copy will be provided to all incumbents in this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand for nine hours a day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception, near and far acuity, color and field of vision. The employee would be required to constantly communicate with management and coworkers, and to listen for emergency sirens and alarms.


Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Environmental conditions necessitate following strict safety guidelines and use of Personal Protective Equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee performs work indoors in a climate-controlled environment, with outdoor trips between buildings and some outdoor work required. Some areas of plant are hot and humid at times.
