About This Position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Must know basic quality terms, definitions and concepts.
Must know basic statistical terms and techniques, how to plot data and how to recognize and report out-of-control conditions using the most current data collection system.
Must properly report, segregate and identify parts/products that are non-conforming.
Notify supervisor of any irregularities or needs of parts or supplies.
Must understand types of measurement, measurement terminology and the different types of measurement scales and equipment and be able to perform checks according to specifications on the Quality Documentation with this equipment.
Must and be able to select the appropriate measuring tools and techniques when one is not specified.
Must have basic calibration knowledge and be able to assist in calibration of equipment.
Must be able to read and understand blueprints and know definitions of critical, major and minor characteristics.
Must have a general knowledge of ASME Y14.5M, working knowledge of GD&T, and must understand the x, y, z coordinate system.
Must work closely with Shipping to keep parts moving appropriately in Outgoing and Final AQL Inspections.
Must be able to use inspection planning tools and perform a product audit; determine sample size for lots; pull random samples.
Must have knowledge of testing methods, including but not limited to Crush Testing, Hardness Testing, Density Testing, Incoming Press Set-Up Inspection and MPI Sample Inspection.
Must be able to identify, document and report nonconforming material and make decisions to stop production when necessary and report this to Management and Shift Supervision.
Must understand traceability (product, material and calibration) and report to Supervision when traceability cannot be determined.
Must be able to complete customer certifications.
Must be able to communicate quality related items on their shift as well as between other shifts.
Must assist in keeping Quality Documentation up to date.
Must have good organizational and time management skills and be able to work somewhat independently on the tasks at hand.
Assist in training of measurement equipment, as needed.
Must maintain the cleanliness of the inspection rooms and its equipment.
Must be aware of current Quality Management System in regard to Quality Policies and how their job activities affect the system.
Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.
