About This Position
Summary Objective
The purpose of this internship is to support the Court Administrator and the probate team in processing and preparing financial documents, including financial reports, receipts, requisitions, payroll, and payment requests. The intern will gain hands-on experience in court administration procedures, with tasks performed under supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation. Beaufort County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

- Assist in processing financial documents such as reports, receipts, requisitions, payroll, and payment requests, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Support the probate team with document preparation and management, contributing to the organization of financial records.
- Work with the Court Administrator and staff to gather information and complete necessary forms and documentation.
- Participate in tasks related to the administration of court processes, including data entry, filing, and document tracking, under appropriate supervision.
- Perform related tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall operations of the department in a learning capacity.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a student currently enrolled in high school, college, or law school.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
