About This Position

The mission of CPLC's Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is to promote the health, well-being, and stability of refugees, unaccompanied alien children, and other eligible individuals and families, through culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based services. Our vision is for all new arrivals to be welcomed with equitable, high-quality services and resources so they can maximize their potential.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In response to the humanitarian crisis at America’s ports of entry, CPLC provides short-term shelter care for unaccompanied children who arrive in the U.S. without a parent or legal guardian. Our team delivers high-quality, trauma-informed residential and educational services, with strong supports for social, emotional, and physical health—including pediatric, dental, and nutritional care.

As a Youth Care Worker Lead, you will:

  • Supervise and mentor Youth Care Worker staff, ensuring safety, ratios, and program standards are met.

  • Support daily operations, including client activities, transitions, and incident reporting.

  • Participate in trainings, safety initiatives, and fill in as needed across program areas.

  • Help ensure every child receives trauma-informed care and timely reunification with their family sponsor.

Our ultimate goal: Every child should leave our care quickly and safely to join their family sponsor—while having received trauma-informed support that addresses the emotional, social, and developmental impacts of their migration journey.

  • Proficiency with computers, common office equipment, and MS Office products.
  • Must be able to perform emergency behavioral intervention (EBI) for clients in care when necessary.

  • Clean criminal background check.
