The mission of CPLC's Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is to promote the health, well-being, and stability of refugees, unaccompanied alien children, and other eligible individuals and families, through culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based services. HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?

As a Youth Care Worker (YCW), you will play a vital role in providing direct care and supervision to refugee and immigrant youth in a residential setting. You will help ensure the safety, well-being, and positive development of children and youth by supporting their daily routines, encouraging healthy behavior, and fostering a stable and nurturing environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide direct supervision and support to youth in a residential setting.

  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and structure of daily routines.

  • Guide positive behavioral growth and model healthy interactions.

  • Foster a supportive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed environment.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support each youth’s development and well-being.

  • Help create a stable and structured atmosphere where youth can feel safe, respected, and empowered.

You are compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting youth during critical stages of their lives. You enjoy working in a team-oriented environment and understand the importance of consistency, structure, and empathy when working with young people from diverse backgrounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education and Background Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional coursework or training in child welfare, social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children or adolescents in a child welfare, residential, or behavioral health setting.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Driver’s License: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that meets organizational insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to pass all background checks successfully.
