As a Liquor Clerk, you’ll help customers find the right products, maintain organized and fully stocked displays, and support daily liquor department operations in a fast-paced grocery store environment.

What You’ll Do

• Provide excellent customer service in the liquor department
• Assist customers with product selection and recommendations
• Answer questions about alcoholic beverages and product availability
• Stock, rotate, and organize liquor shelves and displays
• Maintain attractive merchandising and promotional displays
• Verify customer age and identification for alcohol purchases
• Follow state and local alcohol sales laws and store policies
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and process transactions accurately
• Receive, inspect, and stock liquor shipments and inventory
• Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the liquor department
• Handle spills, damaged products, and safety concerns appropriately
• Support department promotions, seasonal displays, and store operations

What We’re Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years old to sell alcohol according to state and local laws
• Previous retail, customer service, grocery, or liquor sales experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Basic math and cash-handling abilities
• Ability to operate POS systems efficiently
• Attention to detail with inventory, compliance, and merchandising tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)

Work Environment

• Fast-paced grocery store liquor department
• Exposure to coolers, stockrooms, cleaning supplies, and occasional broken glass/spills
• Standing for extended periods; lifting up to 40 lbs
