About This Position
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Slitter Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating slitting machinery to cut materials into specified widths and lengths. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Slitter Operator will ensure that production goals are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
Duties
- Operate slitting machines to cut materials according to specifications.
- Set up and adjust machines based on job requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance on slitting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting specifications.
- Utilize hand tools, CNC machines, and other equipment as needed for assembly and adjustments.
- Monitor production processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Safely operate forklifts and cranes for material handling when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably as a Slitter Operator or similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Familiarity with plasma cutting techniques is a plus.
- Experience in machining processes and the use of calipers for precise measurements.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation effectively.
- Proficient in using hand tools and operating CNC machinery.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand 8-10 hours per day.
- Work overtime and weekends as needed
- Frequent hand coordination
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Capable of communicating with speech and hearing
- Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Capable of lifting/moving up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
