HELPER at Peerless Beverage – Union, New Jersey

Duties and Responsibilities

• Follows all safety policies and procedures and make safety the number one priority.
• Informs management of any safety issues or concerns.
• Assists Peerless Beverage Drivers in delivering product to retail accounts in an efficient and safe manner.
• Assist Peerless Beverage Drivers to properly rotate retail inventory as defined by Peerless Beverage Company rotation policies and standards.
• Follows the lead from Peerless Beverage Driver to ensure route is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
• Develops and manages a productive relationship with retail customers, following Peerless Beverage Company’s customer service standard.
• Promotes and maintains a positive image for Peerless Beverage Company by maintaining dress code at all times.
• Responsible for using all assigned Peerless Beverage Company equipment in an efficient manner, ensuring that it is not damaged while performing daily job duties

Qualifications

• Physical ability to lift, push, pull, reach for, and maneuver products of varying weights up to 150 lbs. at multiple levels, including above shoulder and at floor level, on a constant basis.

• Good interpersonal relationship skills.
• The ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
• Basic IT skills
• Good time management skills
• Strong math skills
• Must be 18 years of age

Compensation

• $21.00 an hour and eligible for overtime pay

Working Conditions

The physical and mental demands described below are representative of those that most commonly will be encountered in this position yet are not all inclusive. Physical and mental ability to perform the duties of this job include hearing ability sufficient to communicate efficiently and effectively with internal and external customers in person and by telephone/voice systems. Hearing ability is also necessary for safety due to mechanical equipment use at many customer locations. This position requires almost constant standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting/pulling, and pushing of up to 160 lbs., without mechanical assistance, at ground to above head levels. Ability to work in outside environments thru different climate for up to 6 hours at a time. Cognitive, intellectual, and mental ability to concentrate on details, and to perform more than one task at a time, including when under significant time and other pressures and to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, co-workers, and all levels of personnel.
