Salt Operator 12-Hour Shifts

Location: Waynesville, NC
Pay: $21.99/hr.
Shift: Dupont 12-hour rotation (7:00 AM7:00 PM / 7:00 PM7:00 AM)

Position Overview

Were hiring a dependable Salt Operator to handle finished product packaging and material movement in a manufacturing environment. This position involves preparing and filling supersacks, operating packaging equipment, using a forklift, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supersacks for filling by placing pallets and cardboard sheets into the hopper.

• Attach and secure supersacks to the filling equipment.

• Operate the hopper to fill supersacks with finished salt product.

• Apply the correct packaging labels and verify product information.

• Remove filled supersacks and transport them to the designated area using a forklift.

• Prepare and tie supersacks for upcoming shifts and weekend production.

• Operate automatic and manual wrapping equipment.

• Enter production information into the computer for record keeping.

• Assist other operators with equipment setup, packaging, and moving finished product to the warehouse.

• Assist with filter press washing as needed.

• Maintain a clean, organized work area free of salt and debris.

• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Provide coverage for other operators as needed and complete additional duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• At least 2 years of work experience; manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Basic math skills, including working with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Valid North Carolina drivers license.

• Ability to repeatedly push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Experience

• Forklift operation.

• Warehouse or material-handling experience.

• Manufacturing or production experience.
