Job Description

Summary: This position serves as leadership The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of recreational activities for campers of all ages. This role involves leading and supervising activities, ensuring safety standards, and working with staff to provide a positive camp experience

Responsibilities:

In relationship to Pre-Camp Training: Greet and assist staff, with Coordinator, and Director. Lead certain activities and discussions as they pertain to Pre-Camp.

In relationship to the staff: Conduct weekly unit meetings with your respective Counselors. Motivate staff in a positive direction in regard to proper action towards campers, camp policy, program, etc.

Plan and Organize Activities: Develop, plan, coordinate and implement a wide range of recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, sports, outdoor games, nature walks, team-building exercises, and themed events. Customize programs to cater to the age and ability level of campers. Ensure that all materials and equipment are ready for each activity.

Supervision and Safety: Supervise campers during recreational activities to ensure they are engaged, safe, and following rules. Monitor camper behavior, providing positive reinforcement as needed. Enforce all camp safety procedures and emergency protocols.

Camp Environment: Create an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment for all campers. Promote a sense of community and encourage positive social interaction among campers. Coordinate and facilitate special events, theme days, or camp-wide competitions.

Communication: Communicate effectively with camp directors and staff regarding schedules, activities, and any camper concerns. Provide feedback to the Camp Director on camper progress and activity success.

·Administrative Duties: Assist with camp schedules, transportation, and planning logistics for events and activities.

  • Previous camping experience and experience with children.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Desire to work with youth.
  • Ability to work in high-stress situations.
  • Valid Drivers License and Insurance
