Position Title: Head Men's –Soccer Coach

Department: Athletics

Reports to: Director of Athletics

Work Hours: As Required

Status: Part-time; Seasonal (Year-Round Recruiting Responsibilities)

SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach of Men's Soccer is responsible for the comprehensive organization, management, and development of the men's soccer program. This individual plays a critical role in fostering a positive team culture, promoting academic and athletic excellence, and ensuring the holistic development of student-athletes. The Head Coach must possess strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills to effectively coach, recruit, and build relationships with students, staff, alumni, and the broader college community. The role requires a strategic approach to program development, a commitment to student-athlete welfare, and adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations.


SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following functions, listed in order of importance and significance:


Recruiting

  • Develop and execute an effective recruiting plan to achieve recruiting and competitive goals.
  • Identify prospective student-athletes qualified for admission to Rosemont College.
  • Effectively communicate with prospective student-athletes and coordinate recruitment efforts with Rosemont's Office of Admissions, particularly with the assigned sport counselor and utilizing Jenzabar JRM.

Teaching/Coaching & Student-Athlete Experience

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to develop, technical sport skills, strategies, and program philosophy.
  • Promote student-athlete welfare and provide appropriate mentoring to student-athletes and assistant coaches.

Program Administration

  • Schedule practices and games in coordination with the Assistant Director of Athletics.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
  • Manage team travel according to established policies and procedures, including travel and meal signoffs and receipts.
  • Provide required information to the Assistant Director of Athletics for compliance purposes and to the Sports Information Director for statistics, website management, and promotion/publicity.
  • Regularly meet with the Assistant or Director of Athletics and attend monthly coaches' meetings.
  • Attending all UE meetings, including preseason, awards, and postseason meetings, both in-person and via conference calls.
  • Comply with all mandatory reporting and film exchange requirements as stipulated by UE /NCAA.
  • Coordinate all fundraising activities for the program.
  • Communicate effectively with the Department of Athletics staff and the College community on matters pertaining to the program.
  • Operate within all College, UE, and NCAA III guidelines.

Supervision

  • Identify, hire, train, and evaluate assistant coaches (including volunteers) and managers (as applicable).
  • Ensure that assistant coaches and volunteers adhere to all College, UE, and NCAA III guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of coaching experience at the college level or significant experience at the high school/club level.
  • Ability to recruit quality student-athletes to a strong academic environment.
  • Ability to effectively teach and coach student-athletes in both team and individual settings.
  • Commitment to providing a positive role model and leadership to the team, with excellent communication skills required.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, positively portraying the College and its programs, personnel, and philosophies.
  • AED, CPR, and First Aid certified.
  • Must possess a current driver's license and a driving record insurable by the College's insurer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Routinely required to lift up to 25 lbs. and carry a distance of 10 feet.
  • Move equipment for game day and assist with game day equipment set-up.
  • Demonstrate drills or skills and physically keep up with the team.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regular travel for recruiting purposes.
  • Routinely drive vans to contests for under 90 minutes and accompany the team on the bus for contests over 90 minutes.
