Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited professional program
- Minimum 3 years Leadership experience in PeriOp setting
- Minimum 5 years experience with PeriOp scheduling
- Prior experience with computer system required
- Minimum 3 years working with Operating
- Room management or in an O.R. setting
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of OR or other hospital base computer system preferred
- OR or other hospital based computer system experience preferred
- Charge Posting and Reconciliation experience preferred
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift- 8:00am-4:30pm
- Monday-Friday (MUST be reachable off hours)
- Full Time
Essential Functions:
- Performs daily systems check - software and hardwarescore: N/A
- Reviews Scheduling Office back-up functions and investigates system problems from previous eveningscore: N/A
- Responsible for monthly operations of OR computer system
- Review and correct error log
- Performs operative record audits
- Provides monthly statistics, accurately and in a timely fashion
- Responsible for periodic maintenance of OR computer system
- Performs software cleanup schedule.
- Performs hardware cleanup schedule.
- Responsible for activities of Operating Room and Endoscopy Scheduling Office
- Reviews daily Operating Room and Endoscopy Schedules and makes adjustments as necessary
- Monitors the activities of Scheduling Office and Charge poster personnel
- Participates in yearly evaluation and counseling as necessary
- Reviews charges and handles billing issues
- Reviews billing audits and educates staff as appropriate
- Creates user defined reports as required and runs reports as requested through the Administrative Director of Perioperative Services
- Performs file maintenance as necessary
- Maintains appropriate levels of computer supplies
- Coordinates with IT to resolve problems and integrate new programs
- Coordinates with OR Director to plan avenues of computer growth.
- Provides computer related education for departmental staff.
- Maintains awareness of staff’s ability to use computers.
- Identifies gaps in staff’s use of computers and addresses through in-services, teaching sessions, and individualized guidance. Works with Nurse Educator
- Maintains security of computer system by forwarding to IT for appropriate privileges
- Functions as liaison with hospital wide computer department.
- Works with department managers as needed
- Acts as resource person regarding computer staff scheduling for OR, ASC, PACU, PAT, and SDS
- Participates in OR and Hospital Committee Membership as required
- Can assume role of Scheduler and charge poster when necessary
- Maintains attendance records for OR personnel.
- Coordinate data entry and maintenance for Supply Module
- Maintains open channels of communication with all departments
- Performs other duties as directed
- Adheres to all policies and procedures. Ensures compliance of staff regarding computer use
- Sets yearly goals and accomplishments in coordination with Perioperative Business Manager and consistently meets them
- Maintains awareness of changes and innovations in the profession through reviewing current
- literature, attending conferences, and in-services
- Complies with Hospital Quality Standards
- Assumes responsibility for cost containment
- Encourages cost conscious behavior of all personnel
- Monitors computer charge ticket compliance
- Is flexible in altering hours for needs of department
- Manages entry of payroll for Periop and Endoscopy- coordinates with departmental leadership for payroll management
- Manages charge posting and reconciliation for Periop and Endoscopy and Cardiac- coordinates with departmental leadership for charge management
- Manages all front desk, scheduling, office correspondence, and EPIC scheduler workflows and daily operations
