Maintenance - Maintenance Technician - FT at Lake Butler Hospital – Lake Butler, Florida

Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital in North Florida providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, and CT Scan) services to Union County and the surrounding counties. We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team! The role will work between 32-40 hours a week. Work days will be Friday-Tuesday.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance and Environmental Services, performs duties relative to the mechanical plant, physical plant, and grounds upkeep for the hospital division.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.
2. Assist in physical plant upkeep (changing air filters, changing light bulbs, flushing drains, descaling ice machines, checking and cleaning roof drains, sanding, painting) and any other related maintenance duties.
3. Maintain grounds work (watering, planting, mowing, hedge control, sweeping curb, trash and debris pick up, raking leaves) and any other related maintenance duties.
4. Maintenance of various pieces of equipment throughout the building facilities. (Greasing bearings, tightening of screws, maintenance of relative monitors.)
5. Report on materials and repair parts needed for specific projects for ordering for the maintenance supervisor.
6. In the absence of the maintenance supervisor shall report to the assistant maintenance supervisor.
7. Assist in monitoring any work performed by outside contractors.
8. Responsible for alerting the maintenance supervisor of any unusual occurrence and or damage that have taken this place or occurred.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent

Experience: Some technical education/experience

Knowledge: Minimum of two-year experience in the related aspects if this position.

OSHA Categories: Category III - Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid

Physical Requirements

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.
