About This Position
Perform routine janitorial and/or maintenance tasks. Responsible for the overall cleanliness and upkeep of all Hubbard House properties and grounds. Daily duties to include fulfilling maintenance repair requests, conducting regular inspections, overseeing vendors and partnering with external service providers. Work schedule will be determined to best suit the needs of the Agency.
Principal Job Duties
1. Clean office/administration areas as scheduled, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying trash.
2. Perform light maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to changing bulbs, A/C filters, etc.
3. Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and place orders with authorized vendors in keeping with Agency policy.
4. Network with vendors, repair technicians and service providers and accompany those vendors when providing services to the facility.
5. Coordinate, facilitate and participate in special facility related projects as assigned.
6. Ensure proper maintenance of facility grounds and landscape.
7. Wash, wax and buff tile floor (ceramic tile floors should not be waxed and buffed) areas on second floor (common areas and bedrooms) as scheduled.
8. Wash, wax and buff all designated daycare areas as scheduled (ceramic tile floors should not be waxed and buffed). (5%)
9. Wash, wax and buff elevator floor as scheduled.
10. Wash, wax and buff all tile floors (ceramic tile floors should not be waxed and buffed) in all lobbies, hallways and common areas as scheduled.
11. Maintain and ensure required inspections of building, vehicles, and grounds are performed on schedule.
12. Perform any other task as assigned by the supervisor.
13. Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:High School Diploma or GED. Minimum one-year previous janitorial and/or general maintenance-related experience required. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with at minimum a basic understanding of plumbing, A/C, electrical, and other building maintenance general practices as well as tools of the trade.
Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: sexual assault or domestic violence programs. Must be able to read, write and speak English; bi-lingual capabilities a plus.
If a driver’s license is required for this position, the following conditions apply: A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation are required. Vehicle insurance must be maintained. Must meet eligibility requirements for Hubbard House, Inc. vehicle insurance coverage.
Due to the serious nature of the Hubbard House mission, must successfully clear background screening: 1) a level-2 background screening which includes a criminal background check through the Department of Family and Children (DCF), Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and the National Sex Offender Registry (at a minimum); 2) a motor vehicle report (MVR) is also run against the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV); and 3) a drug, alcohol, and TB screening. Must be able to produce proof of eligibility to work in the United States (E-Verify).
This is an onsite position.
